Locals Protest Idealease in Denver, Colorado

Citizens from the Denver, Colorado area recently protested at Idealease affiliate McCandless Truck Center, who currently leases trucks to Stericycle, one of which is used to service the second largest Planned Parenthood facility in the nation.
The protest marks the second Idealease affiliate that has been the subject of public resistance in recent months. Additional protests are likely to follow nationwide as citizens are urging Idealease and its affiliates to prohibit Stericycle from using their trucks to service abortion facilities.

Campaign to Stop Stericycle (CSS) had spoken with Scott McCandless, President of McCandless Truck Center, in July after the company’s trucks were seen servicing Planned Parenthood, and was informed that Stericycle’s contract with McCandless was “winding down.” However, it is not known how much time remains on the contract.
When Denver citizens spoke with McCandless during the protest, he stated, “I have existing contracts that I have to honor. As of going forward, after this, we’re done.” McCandless stated that he is not for abortion, but added, “We have no right to interfere with our customer’s business. … How my customer uses a truck that buys from me, I can’t stop them.” Citizens then informed McCandless that Penske and Ryder have prohibited Stericycle from using their trucks to service abortion facilities, and urged him to do the same.
CSS exhorts individuals nationwide to contact McCandless Truck Leasing at (888) 245-7950 and kindly, but firmly, implore the company to stop allowing their trucks to be used by Stericycle to service abortion facilities.
In July, Life and Liberty Ministries picketed an Idealease affiliate in Richmond, Virginia after learning that the location had been presented with a contract from Stericycle to replace Ryder. During the picket, the lawyer for the affiliate contacted CSS to state that the company would not be signing the contract.
